Mono Alarms - Company History

Mono Alarms was founded in 1987 and for many years serviced the Domestic and Small Commercial Intruder Alarm market from premises on Kingsway, South Manchester.

In 1996 the business merged with White Security Systems and moved to its current base in Eccles. Shield Security Systems joined the group in 2004 and in 2006 Mono Alarms acquired the specialist consulting business of Ikon CCTV and Access Control greatly enhancing its technical abilities. Both Shield and Ikon retain their individual identities within the Mono Alarm group.

The Company Today

Today Mono Alarms has 31 employees and is strongly represented throughout the North West region in the fields of Intruder Alarms, CCTV and Access Control systems. The business remains a substantial player in the Domestic and Small Commercial alarm sector with over 7,000 customers operating from some 13,500 sites. We aim to stay true to our demanding roots and to continue to provide appropriate security solutions at competitive prices backed up by the highest levels of customer care.

The Mono Alarms of today also boasts a broad range of large corporate clients ranging from British Waterways, Hydes Brewery, Mitie plc and Carillion Group. We are also strongly represented in the highly demanding contracting sector of the construction industry working for a range of builders, electrical contractors and design engineers.
